Meeting Yufen
A Certified Therapist & Registered Social Worker
Life can feel overwhelming when we find ourselves repeating the same exhausting cycles—feeling stuck in patterns of anxiety, painful relationship dynamics, parenting struggles, or lingering past wounds. In intimate relationships, this often manifests as a deep sense of hopelessness and emotional fatigue: constantly seeking love, validation, or reassurance from a partner, or searching for an elusive antidote to wounds rooted in the family of origin. Many wonder why the same misunderstandings, reactive arguments, or emotional walls keep recurring—leaving them feeling powerless and trapped.
Yufen believes that while the challenges we face are deeply complex, you are the true expert of your own life. Real and lasting transformation does not come from waiting for others to change or surrendering emotional security to external validation. It begins with your own willingness to take that first step—that spark of readiness is the most powerful turning point. When we recognize our own capacity for change and reclaim our personal agency, our entire relational world shifts. True change starts from within: when we shift how we respond, our relationships transform, and our children naturally begin to change too.
Working together, Yufen creates a safe, compassionate space to:
Uncover underlying patterns: Understand the emotional, behavioral, and generational loops—including unresolved family-of-origin wounds—that keep you trapped in cycles of seeking validation, emotional withdrawal, or reactivity in your romantic life and parenting.
Break the cycle: Untangle repetitive relational conflicts, let go of conditional approval-seeking, and build grounded, secure ways to connect with yourself and your partner.
Distinguish control from acceptance: Clarify what is truly within your power to change, reclaim the inner agency you may have given away, and gently shift your perspective on what you cannot control.
Cultivate your life: Align your choices with healthy boundaries, self-worth, emotional safety, and the authentic warmth you desire for yourself and your family.
With over a decade of clinical experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through relationship distress, parenting hurdles, trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions across community agencies, school systems, health setting, and employee assistance programs (EFAP), Yufen meets every client with deep empathy and none-judgment. Currently, she also practices at St. John's Health and Wellness Professional Centre in Port Moody.
If you are ready to make a meaningful shift, Yufen is here to walk alongside you. Together, you can break the cycle and rediscover clarity, emotional sovereignty, and lasting peace.
